Honorarium of SPOs hiked, DGP thanks GoI, J&K Govt

Srinagar: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday approved the proposal of State Government to enhance the monthly honorarium of Special Police Officers (SPOs) of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
As per the MHA communication, the SPOs who have less than three years of service would now be paid a monthly remuneration of Rs 6,000, while those who have completed three years of service would be paid Rs 9,000 per month.
Whereas, the SPOs who have completed five and 10 years of service would be paid Rs 12,000 and Rs 15,000 per month respectively.
Those who have completed 15 years of service would now be paid Rs 18,000 per month. It said the new scales of remuneration would be effective with immediate effect.
Director General of Police, J&K Dilbag Singh on behalf of Jammu and Kashmir Police has thanked Government of India and Government of Jammu and Kashmir for enhancing the honorarium of the SPOs, a statement issued here reads.
This is the second revision of the monthly honorarium of the SPOs within last few months. The earlier revision was issued and implemented in September 2018.
The DGP said that the decision of will go a long way in boosting the morale of the SPOs. He said some more proposals have been submitted for the consideration of the Government wherein favourable action is expected.
