Landslides due to rainfall over highway, shut for traffic

Srinagar: Srinagar-Jammu strategic highway on Thursday was closed for vehicular traffic following landslides and shooting stones incidents triggered by continuous rainfall over the stretch.

An official said that fresh landslides and stones falling from mountain in Ramsu area due to downpour led to closure of the highway.

Meanwhile Amarnath Yatra has been suspended up to 4th August due to adverse weather conditions as heavy downpour continues in most parts of J&K including Srinagar.
