Kupwara: Five persons including two women have been injured in the cross LOC firing along line of control in Tangdhar sector in Kupwara since Tuesday night.
A police officer said that three more civilians were injured last night due to heavy shelling from Pakistan.
“The shelling from Pakistan stopped in the mid night  and still there is no fresh attempt of cease fire violation from either of the side,” he said.
The injured have been evacuated to SDH Tangdhar.
“Civilian population is out of danger  and have moved to safer places,” officer said.
Meanwhile authorities have ordered the closure of all the private com government institutions including Government Degree College Tangdhar and have snapped internet services as precautionary measure.
Locals said that, traffic is off the roads almost all the shops are shut and people aren’t coming out of their houses to escape any untoward happening.
