Pulwama: The health care system in rural areas of Kashmir is failing to be up to mark to cater to the population in far off places, one such example is Sub Centre Mitrigam in Pulwama district where only  ORS (Oral dehydration salt )and Paracetamol are the only medicine available.
“Not even first aid facility is available here,” a resident of the village told INS, adding that it functions from a shanty room where even cotton is not available.
The sub centre caters to almost five villages including mitrigam, Deru, putrigam.
The population depending on the health facility is almost 4000 people.
“There are three female employees two among them are FMPHW and one is orderly nurse, no Phyisician or Gynaecologist has been deputed to this place,” they said.
Block Medical Officer Pulwama  told INS that they e will look into the matter of the health facility.
“The stock might have finished. Will check on that,” the officer said.
