Clashes erupt in Tral after local JeM commander killed

Pulwama: Massive clashes erupted in Tral town of this south Kashmir district after a top commander of Jaish-e-Mohammad was killed in a gunfight with government forces in Anantnag.
Officials said Jaish’s top commander Fayaz Ahmad, a resident of Panzoo Tral, was killed along with his associate in a gunfight with the forces at Katoo area of Bijbehara in Anantnag.
Witnesses said that soon after the news about the killing of Fayaz spread in Tral, intense clashes erupted as youth took to streets and clashed with government forces. They said that forces fired tear gas shells to disperse the protesters. The dingdong clashes were going on when this report was filed.  File picture used for illustration
