Shopian: Residents of Shamsipora village in Shopian are aghast over the callous and lackadaisical approach of government in providing the area better road connectivity. The roads are in shambles and despicable conditions.

Villagers talking to INS said that the road connecting the area with district headquarter has never bee repaired or macadamised.

“Flood channel runs nearby the road and the leakage overflows on the road filling it at various locations. It makes traversing this road almost impossible,” residents complained.

Locals have sought intervention of Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Dr Owais Ahmad and demanded early macdamisation of the road.

“The road must be repaired so that we can have a sigh of relief,” they said.
