Srinagar: One militant was killed in a gunfight with government forces in Shopian district on Friday.
Also authorities have snapped internet services in the south Kashmir’s Kulgam ,Shopian Pulwama districts, official sources said.
They said one militant was killed during the gunfight which started early on Friday in an orchard at Narwan village of the south Kashmir district.
The encounter ensued after joint team of Army’s 44RR and police’s SOG launched a cordon and search operation based on “credible inputs” about the presence of the militants, believed to be two to three in number. “Body of the militant has been recovered while searches are going on in the area,” they added.
