Budgam encounter: Youth injured with bullet amid clashes near gunfight site

Srinagar: A youth has received bullet injuries near encounter site at Gund Checkpora Kanipora Nowgam in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Sources claim that he has been shifted to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment.

Clashes erupted between protesting youth and forces near the gunbattle  site and its adjoining areas including Khanpora Nowgam.

The police and paramilitary CRPF used force to disperse protesters resulting in minor injuries to three persons.

“One youth namely Shabir Ahmad son of Mohammad Ashraf of Chakapora, Kanapora was hit by bullet,” sources claim.

He has been hit in lower abdomen and is being operated upon.

Earlier, a militant was killed in an encounter with goverment forces at Gund Checkpora, Kanipora, Nowgam.
