Srinagar: The Civil Society Forum Kashmir (CSFK) has welcomed the decision of the government to covert the maternity and pediatric hospital at Bemina into a full fledged pediatric hospital.
The government on Tuesday ordered conversion of 200-bedded maternity and 300-bedded pediatrics hospital at Bemina in Srinagar into a full-fledged 500-bedded pediatric hospital.
The forum has been of this view for a long time and had raised this with the government time and again. The experts in the medical fraternity had been demanding such a move as well.
The creation of 500 bed specialty children hospital will go a long way in helping the people of the valley.
The health care infrastructure particularly for children has been very low and such initiatives are the need of the hour in Kashmir. While hailing the government’s decision the forum hopes that the hospital will be made operational within a short time frame so that the public can benefit from it as soon as possible.
