Tral: Massive throng was witnessed on Saturday for the funeral prayers of slain Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM ) militant Yawar Ahmed Najar at his native village Dar Ganiegund in South Kashmir’s Tral Sub district of Pulwama.
Yawar was killed along with his Pakistani associate in a gunfight with government forces in Nanar village of Tral on Friday evening. They both belonged to JeM outfit.
Earlier, large number of people from Aripal, Satoora, Khangund, Lam, Dar, Guteng, Waged, Pastuna and other areas poured into the streets of Dar Ganiegund village.
The people marched with the body as it reached the village and massive sloganeering erupted in the area.
Yawar was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard at Dar Ganiegund, after three to four rounds of funeral prayers.
The house in which the slain militants were trapped suffered massive damage.
Besides that a vehicle and a motorcycle parked near the house also got damaged during the encounter.
Meanwhile, complete shutdown is being observed in Tral to mourn the militant killings.
