Shopian : A gunfight between militants and government forces broke out in orchards of Dragad area in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday morning.

Offcials said that the anti militancy operation is being conducted by joint team of forces including 44 RR of Army.

They said that  on intensifying search operation towards suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon forces triggered encounter. 

“The searches were launched following a tip off about militants hiding in the area,” they claimed.
