Kulgam: Government forces on Thursday evening launched a cordon and search operation in Dessan village of south kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Sources informed the journal press a joint team of government forces including Army’s 9 RR, Special Operation Group of local police and paramilitary CRPF cordoned off all the roads leading to the Dessan area, native village of active Hizb militant commander.
They said door to door search operation has been initiated and all the entry and exit points of the village have been sealed.
Local sources said that huge contingents of government forces have been deployed in the area and there was no exchange of gunfire when this report was filed.
