Kokernag: Two militants have been killed in an encounter in Kachwan  forests of Kokernag belt of Anantnag district on Tuesday.

 

An official said that the bodies have been recovered and taken away by police for identification purposes.

Earlier on specific inputs about the presence of militants in forests of Kachwan area of Kokernag in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district joint team of forces including 19 RR launched search operation in the area, official added

 

On intensifying search operation towards suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon forces triggered encounter, he said.

 

With the killing of two militants the operation in the forests has ended.
