Militant killed in nocturnal gunfight in Kulgam village

Srinagar : A militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter with government forces at Gopalpora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district in the wee hours of Wednesday.

 

The operation is being conducted by a joint team of army’s 34RR and SOG.

In the initial phase of gunfight, one militant has been killed and operation is going on,  sources said.

“The operation was launched following a specific tip off about militants presence in the area and as s the joint team of forces intensified the searches and fired some warning shots towards the suspected spot, the militants hiding inside opened fire leading to a gunfight,” they said.

The gunfight is going on in the area.
