Anantnag:- Anantnag Municipal committee employee on Thursday was thrashed by street vendors in Anantnag district of south Kashmir while trying to remove encroachments from the roads.

The employee has been identified as Khursheed Ahmad Sofi.

He was thrashed by street vendors during removal of illegal occupants from footpath near Mehandi Kadal.

The employee was shifted to district hospital Anantnag for first aid treatment .

Police have registered a case under RPC 65/19 and started investigation.
