Ganderbal: The snow laden road to tourist destination Sonmarg has been opened for vehicular movement on Monday.

The road remained closed for four months.

On Monday authorities said that Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri highway from Gagangeer upto tourist resort Sonamarg has been opened for vehicles.

District Administration Ganderbal said that from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm traffic will be allowed to ply.

“The traffic will be allowed only subject to  fair weather conditions,” they said, adding that during avalanche warnings.

“Night stay shall not be allowed till the restoration of electricity,” they said.
