Pulwama: A Cordon and search operation, started on Sunday morning, following gunshots in Zajikhowur area of Tral, concluded after 12-hours.
Acting on a specific information of presence of presence of militants, a joint team of government forces comprising Army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Special Operations Group (SOG) launched a massive operation.
Sources said that as the joint team was strengthening the cordon, the militants opened fire from forest area, which was retaliated by the government forces, leading to a gunfight
Soon after that, reinforcements were called and the joint team intensified searches in the whole area but concluded without any casualty to either side.
