Weatherman predicts fresh rains in Kashmir from tomorrow

Srinagar: Weatherman on Thursday predicted fresh rains from tomorrow till Saturday afternoon even as mercury in most places including Srinagar settled above the normal for this time of the year.
“Today (there would be) partly to generally cloudy sky and from tomorrow evening, (there would be) rain or thunder upto Saturday afternoon,” an official of the local meteorological department said.
He said Srinagar—the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir – recorded a minimum temperature of minus 9.3 Degrees Celsius last night against 6.1 degrees Celsius normal for this time of the season. The official said that Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir recorded a low of 6.8 degrees Celsius against 4.7 Degrees Celsius normal while the mercury in Kokernag town in south Kashmir settled at a low of 7.6 degrees Celsius (4.5 Deg Cel normal) while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a minimum of 2.4 degrees Celsius. Gulmarg, the famous ski-resort in north Kashmir, witnessed a low of minus 2.5 degrees Celsius while the famous health resort of Pahalgam also recorded a minimum of 4.0 degrees Celsius against normal of 1.6 degrees Celsius.
