Ameer Jama’at e Islami booked under Public Safety Act

Srinagar: Government on Saturday slapped Public Safety Act on Jama’at-e-Islami chief  Abdul Hamid Fayaz and has been shifted to high security prison in Jammu.

Family of JeI chief confirmed that he has been booked under PSA by the authorities. He was lodged in Srinagar’s Central Jail and will now be shifted to Kathua jail in Jammu.

He was arrested on February 23 from his residence at Hyderpora and was placed under police detention.

JeI was banned by the Government of India and declared unlawfull organisation for five years.
