Sopore: Police uses pellet gun, tear gas shells to quell protests, 15 injured

Sopore: Almost fifteen persons have received injuries during clashes in Sopore that erupted following funeral prayers of slain local militant on Friday.

According to reports forces used pellet guns and tear gas to disperse the protesters who resorted to stone pelting.

“The injured were evacuated to medical facility for treatment,” they said.

The situation in the area is tense and clashes are going on.

Amir Rasool Kaboo of Arampora was killed along with an associate in the gunfight at Kalantara Baramulla on Thursday evening.
