Srinagar: Restrictions have been imposed by authorities on Friday in Old City Srinagar while Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was put under house detention.
Reports said that restrictions have also been imposed in Anantnag town, Bijbehara and other parts of South Kashmir.
The restrictions come in the wake of central governments decision to ban Jamaat-e-Islami organisation, days after arresting scores of its members in a massive crackdown.
