Srinagar: The Srinagar-Jammu highway, the only surface link connecting Kashmir Valley with rest of the world, remained closed following a major landslide overnight in Ramban district and the only stranded vehicles would be allowed once it’s made traffic worthy, officials said on Thursday.
They said landslide hit the thoroughfare at Moom Passi, the frequently troubled area, in Ramsoo stretch last night, leaving hundreds of vehicles stranded.
He said efforts are on to restore the highway and the clearance of the road will take some time.
“Subject to the clearance of road, only stranded vehicles shall be allowed towards Jammu.”
