Srinagar: The Srinagar-Jammu highway, the only surface link connecting Kashmir with rest of the world, remained closed after fresh landslides in Ramban district and “snowfall” near Jawahar tunnel.
According to a traffic department, the decision regarding the movement of vehicles on thoroughfare shall be taken on Tuesday after assessing the weather and road condition.
“Today traffic movement disrupted on highway due to continuously landslides and shooting stones at Mom passi, now snowing at Jawahar tunnel and raining between Ramban- Jawahar tunnel,” a traffic department official said. “Therefore decision regarding the movement of vehicles on Jammu-Srinagar highway shall be taken tomorrow (Tuesday) after assessing the weather and road condition,” the official added.
