Employees of ICDS allege fraud in promotion list, officials say investigation launched

Anantnag: A group of employees working in Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) in Anantnag District today alleged that the in the seniority list of Anganwadi workers deployed as supervisors by State Mission Directorate ICDS J&K has been issued ‘without proper verification’.
The order was issued five months back.
Workers alleged that the department had ‘framed some fake degree holders in list and it was done by few officials in clear violation of the procedure laid down.’
They alleged that some senior officials have been dropped while some others have been put in the list with ‘fake degrees.’

The ICDS department had released a list of 10 employees before five months back vide order No 1017 SMD of 2018 Dated 5/9/2018 and letter No DPOK/ICDS/2018/5759-71 Dated 13-08-2018 in which the Anganwadi workers were posted of Supervisors of District Anantnag.

The order read that:”.. on the basis of final seniority list of graduate Anganwadi workers furnished by district programme officer ICDS Anantnag vide letter No DPOK/ICDS/2018/5759-71 Dated 13-08-2018 the following Graduate Anganwadi workers of District Anantnag are hereby placed as I/C supervisor on temporary basis pending clearance by DPC, or till posts are filled by proper procedure in terms of existing rules.”
Aggrieved workers alleged that the order and the seniority list of Anganwadi workers have been issued without proper verification.
“Some of them have fake graduation certificates have been deployed as supervisors,” they alleged.
They claimed that a person on top of the list was promoted in 2005 as supervisor, but after got proper verification of documents by ICDS department her documents were found fake.
“She is again in the list and shockingly the number one in list,” they said.
“Some of the beneficiaries have got promotion on the basis of the certificates from from Nagaland collged,” they said.
District programming officer Anantnag Layaiq Parvaiz told INS that we are investigating the matter.
“The case is also being investigating the Crime Branch Srinagar. The beneficiaries found guilty will be dropped from the list,” Parvaiz added.
