Srinagar: Land and air connectivity of Kashmir valley remains cut for second consecutive day as heavy snowfall across the valley continued for second day.

According to officials at Traffic police the vehicular movement over the only road connectivity, Srinagar-Jammu highway, will remain closed as snow has accumulated at the stretch including at Jawahar tunnel.

“Landslides have occurred, and road conditions are slippery,” the official said, who added that the road will remain closed till further orders.

Mughal Road, and Sonmarg-Gumari road will remain closed as well.

Airport authorities at Srinagar International airport said that due to poor visibility at the runway the flights will remain disturbed.

“Go Air and Indigo all flights have been cancelled and two Army charters too will not fly,” he said,

All flight of Ao air, Army charter flight 9817-9818, spice jet SG 161 and SG 939, Indigo All flights,  and Air Asia I5713-14  have been cancelled.

According to reports from various district correspondents electricity has been snapped in majority of the areas, including Srinagar.

“Polls are damaged, wires snapped due to heavy snowfall,” reports said.

An official at the PDD department wishing anonymity said that the work is hampering as heavy snowfall continues.

“We will restore it as soon as possible,” he promised.
