Srinagar: Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen on Wednesday termed ban on it by government of India as attempt to mislead the world and extremely hilarious.
“Having illegally occupied more than half of Jammu and Kashmir and killing more than one lakh innocent civilians, India in a bid to mislead its own people has imposing ban on Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen which is extremely hilarious and misleading the world community,” TuM said in a emailed statement issued here.
“The ban on Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen is nothing but routine communal politics which in practical has no value because attempts to resolve Kashmir issue from 1947 to 1989 politically and diplomatically miserably failed and as such TuM came into existence,” it said.
Earlier the Central Government in its recent gazette declared Tehreek-ul-Mujahiddin (TuM) as a terrorist organisation.
According to a statement issued by Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday, ‘Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen’ came into existence in the year 1990 with the objective of “liberation of Kashmir” and has been actively pursuing the same by way of acts of terror.
In recent past TuM has carried out a number of attacks besides subversive acts like grenade attacks, weapons snatching incidents, supporting other militant outfits, such as Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen (HM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in terms of financial and logistic support, it said.
