Srinagar: Weatherman on Monday forecast scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir in next four days peaking on February 6 and 7.
“…there would be high moisture feeding from Arabian Sea over northwest India specifically over Western Himalayan Region (WHR)–(Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) mainly during 6th to 8th February,” an official of the Meteorological Department said.
“As a result, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rain/snowfall would occur over Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on 4th evening. The distribution and intensity of the rain/snowfall will increase thereafter with fairly widespread to widespread rain/snowfall over WHR from 5th to 8th,” he said, adding, “Isolated heavy rain/snowfall would occur over Jammu & Kashmir on 6th and 7th and over Himachal Pradesh on 7th February.”
Overall, the official said, peak activity over Western Himalayan Region will be on 6th and 7th February.
