KULGAM: The residents of Chetargam, kanchloo villages of kund in Kulgam protested against Power Development Development (PDD) for failing to repair damaged transformer of their locality despite passing of almost a month.

They said the area has been reeling under complete darkness for the past 20 days and alleged that the department had failed to repair the transformers.

“We did requests to PDD authorities for replacing the low capacity transformer of the village with a high one so that it can bear the load of all households of the village but all in vain,” they said.

Executive Engineer, PDD, kulgam Nisar ahmad said that the damaged transformer has been  shifted to a workshop in kulgam.

“It will take few days for repairing,” he added.
