Police arrests drug peddler in Awantipora

Awantipora: A drug peddler was arrested by Jammu and Kashmir police in Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama on Tuesday.
A police official said that on Tuesday, a police party headed by DO Reshipora Sub Inspector Abdul Rehman intercepted a person during a naka checking at Panzgam area of Awantipora.
He said that person was later identified as Bilal Ahmad Dar son of Gh Mohd Dar of Dogripora village of Awantipora.
The official further said that 72 bottles of codeine phosphate were recovered from the bag which he was carrying.
“A case has been registered in this connection, and further investigation taken up,” he said.
