Kulgam: Illegal construction on agricultural lands galore, officials say, will be deputing teams to check the menace

Kulgam: The conversion of agricultural land  is galore in district Kulgam of south Kashmir and officials have turned a blind eye towards the illegal constructions happening unabated.  

“IIllegal constructions have been going on with impunity in Kulgam areas of Kulpora, Ashmuji Baan and other areas of Kulgam on agricultural land with the district administration turning a blind eye towards the issue,” locals told INS.

Sources inside district administration alleged ‘political patronage for the rampant illegal constructions on agricultural land.’

“Residential houses, automobile workshops and every kind of concrete structures have been mushrooming on these stretches for the last half a decade now,” locals claimed.

ACR Kulgam Shahnawaz Ahmad said that: “We will depute a team headed by Naib Tehsildar and take action against new constructions in agricultural lands in the areas of Kulgam.”

“We will take stringent action against culprits,” he added.
