Police said that it was investigating as to how these weapons went missing from the guard room adjacent to official residence of the MLC at J-13 government Quarters Jawaharnagar.

Meanwhile, official sources said all the four policemen, three from security wing and another from District Police Sopore, have been summoned for questioning while the authorities have also ordered an enquiry to ascertain the incident.

The incident comes three months after a special police officer posted with the former People’s Democratic Party MLA Aijaz Ahmad Mir fled with at least eight weapons including the licensed pistol of the legislator from his official residence in the same locality on September 29.
