Srinagar: In yet another step to express resentment against the government, Kashmir PHE Joint Employees Association (KPHEJEA) on Tuesday said it will launch- Valley-wide agitation to mark a protest against what they termed as the failure of government in resolving their issues including regularization.

Addressing a presser, KPHEJEA president, Sajjad Parray told reporters that the association has decided to launch Valley-wide agitation besides lock down of offices district wise from January 07-15.

Parray said that the government has failed to fulfill its promises done with the casual labourers, land donors, daily wagers and others regarding regularization.

He informed that on Jan 07, all the offices, sub offices and others will be locked down by the employees in Baramulla district while as on Jan 08, all the offices will be locked down in Budgam district. “On Jan 09, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, all the offices in Bandipora, Kupwara, Ganderbal, Anantnag, Kulgam and Srinagar respectively will be locked to mark a protest in favour of our demands,” Parray said.

The association president informed that on Jan 12, the offices in Shopian and Pulwama besides Anantnag will be locked down against the government for failing to fulfill their demands.

He said that the government has totally ignored them at all fronts. “Governor Satya Pal Malik led administration has ignored the PHE department in the Budget as well,” he said.

Parray told reporters that all the promises done with the casual labourers, land donor and daily wagers done by the successive governments including the Governor led administration proved ‘hoax’ as not even a single promise was fulfilled so far, thus leaving thousands of employees to suffer.

“We have been promised of regularization from past several years but nothing has been done in this regard,” he said, adding that the government must come clear on the issue of those employees who lost their lives while performing their duties.

He added that the files are piled up for the regularization of the casual labourers, daily wagers or land donors but unfortunately are gathering dust in different offices. “We appeal the authorities to fulfill our demands at an earliest,” he said.

Parray said to mark a protest against the government and in favour of their demands, the association has decided to launch Valley-wide agitation during which they will lockdown the offices, sub-divisions and other offices district wise from January 07, 2019
