General Elections: Govt Form Panels For Considering Security, Others Issues

Srinagar: The administration on Monday constituted state and divisional level committees for conducting preparatory work for general elections. Headed by principal Secretary Home department, the state level committee comprises DGP, Principal Secretary Transport, Financial Commissioner Revenue, Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Additional Director General (CID), Divisional commissioners (Jammu/Kashmir) and any other member as may be co-opted by the committee.
The State level committee has been tasked to project the requirements and options or conduct to general elections in the state on the basis of inputs from divisional level committee and an assessment of the ground level situation taking into consideration security logistical, personnel, equipment and all other requirements.
The divisional committees, headed by respective divisional commissioners comprises of two members—IGP and any officer as may be co-opt by the committee.
The divisional level committees have been tasked to provide an outline of the possibilities and constraints to the state level committee.
The divisional level committee has been asked to submit report by January 15 while state level committee has been asked to the needful by January 31.
