Massive clashes erupt after gunfight in Sopore

Sopore: Massive clashes erupted on Thursday in Brath villages of Sopore in north Kashmir following a gunfight in which two local militants were killed in an overnight gunfight with government forces.
Reports said that youth took to streets and clashed with government forces at Brath village as the joing team of forces were withdrawing following the completion of the “operation”.
Two local militants affiliated with TuM were killed in the overnight gunfight with government forces
in Brath Kalan village of Sopore. The gunfight erupted last night when joint team of government forces laid siege of the village following inputs about the presence of militants. The government forces had installed lights and snapped internet.
The operation was halted during the night due to darkness and was resumed at the crack of the dawn on Thursday. Two local militants Owais Ahmad Bhat of Sadipora and Tahir Dar of Gund Brath Sopore, were killed. The duo had recently joined the militant outfit, officials said. (File Picture For Illustration)
