Policing in Leh is future of policing: DGP

Jammu: The Director General of Police J&K, Dilbag Singh (IPS) accompanied by Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone SP Pani on Wednesday visited Leh and took stock of various issues pertaining to the region.
The Director General interacted with the representatives of various religious, social and political organizations at District Police Lines Leh. Appreciating the brotherhood and communal harmony of Ladakh, he commended the people for always showing exemplary social inclusiveness and cohesion which are reflected in the policing as well.
SP Pani-IPS ,IGP Kashmir while speaking on the occasion, appreciated the role of District Police Leh and said that the policing here is the future of policing which is the need of the time.
CEC LAHDC LEH Sh.Gyal Wangyal, Executive Councilors LAHDC Kargil, Nasir Munshi and Puntsog Tashi besides other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
Later, Dilbag Singh inaugurated the Women Police Station at Leh. The inaugural function was attended by the representatives of various women organizations and NGOs, District Officers and female students of Degree College Leh.
The DGP while speaking on the occasion congratulated the women folk of Ladakh region and assured that this Police Station besides working for the safety and security of women will also work towards strengthening family relations and keep the ethos of the united family intact.
SSP Leh, Miss Sargun Shukla-IPS thanked the DGP for the tremendous support being provided by the DGP time and again and assured that District Police Leh endeavours to perform in accordance with the principles of J&K Police and shall continue to do so.
On his visit to the District Jail Leh, the DGP took stock of various developmental activities, reviewed the security scenario and also interacted with the inmates. During his inspection at Police Station Leh, he reviewed crime and investigation and also issued necessary directions for improvement in the infrastructural. The DGP also inspected the land allotted to J&K Armed Police at Phyang and GOs mess as well.
