Hurriyat sources said that Geelani left at around 1 pm from his Hyderpora residence and will be visiting her daughter.

Geelani’s son-in-law Ghulam Hassan Makhdoomi  died in SKIMS on Tuesday night, but he could not attend the funeral prayers owing to ailing health and bad weather conditions, hurriyat sources said.

Geelani is under conitinous house detention since 2010 and  has not been let offer friday prayers even in the nearby Jamia Mosque.

He was allowed to visit his hometown Sopore six years back, but was not allowed to move beyond his residence by the government.

According to police sources the decision to let him move beyond Hyederpora house’s compound was taken tuesday evening but he did not go to Sopore on Wednesday on personal reasons.
