Sopore: Inhabitants of Naharpora Mohalla and shopkeepers in the Iqbal market Sopore on Saturday morning protests against PDD for failing to provide electricity in their area from last five days.
Protesters blocked the road at iqbal market for several hours and also expressed anger against (PDD) for installing a low capacity 250 KV transformer in the area comprising hundreds of households and main market of the town.
The aggrieved residents and shopkeepers said the transformer due to heavy load develops snag frequently.
“Every year on beginning of winter season ,authorities don’t bother to install a high capacity (400KV) transformer in the area,” residents said.
