Tral : Amid heavy rains, scores of people in Tral sub division of South Kashmir on Saturday staged protest demonstration against the Power Development Department (PDD) for failing to provide electricity as per the government schedule.
The protesters took to the roads, protested against the PDD with slogans, and blocked the Tral-Awantipora road near Aabghar in Uptown area.
The protest rally was led by senior citizen of Tral and Chairman citizens counicil Farooq Ahmad Trali.
Trali said that power cuts are affecting people particularly students who are “not able to study well in ongoing BOSE and University exams.”
Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tral, Reyaz Ahmad Malik, visited the protesting spot instantly and asked the people to “stop protests and open the road for traffic.”
He als assured them that power crisis will be mitigated in the area soon.
