Govt constitutes panel on rehabilitation of setting up of HEPs

Srinagar: The Government today ordered constitution of a High-Level Committee to examine and finalize the draft Rehabilitation and Resettlement Policy for the affected people/population due to setting up of hydro-electric projects, development related projects and all such acquisition of land and structures involving displacement of people.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, the Committee will have two permanent members including Administrative Secretary Forest, Ecology & Environment Department and Administrative Law Justice & Parliamentary Affairs.
The Committee can co-opt any other officer, as required, as a Special Invitee.
