“All set Inshaallah to have the first mayor from PC. Expecting very good results. Time to give Srinagar what it deserves. A set of hardworking people who work there on the ground,” Sajad wrote on his Twitter handle.

Prior to Lone, Governor Jammu and Kashmir Satya Pal Malik triggered a row when he claimed that a “foreign-educated” person will be Srinagar mayor, however later Rajbhavan said that Malik was misrepresented by the media organisation.
