Gunfight rages in Fateh Kadal Srinagar

Srinagar : An encounter broke out between forces and militants in Fateh Kadal area of Srinagar in the wee hours of Wednesday morning police said.

Police said that the encounter raged after forces launched cordon and search operations in Syed Ali Akbar area of Fateh Kadal since mid Tuesday night.

The CASO was launched by the forces after they received credible inputs about the presence of militants in the area. A top police officer confirmed that militants holed up in a residence home at Fateh Kadal fired upon the search party.
