Baramulla: A senior police officer and his security guard were injured on Wednesday in a militant in Pattan town of this north Kashmir district.

Witnesses said that militants lobbed a grenade at a team of policemen near Babteng in Pattan here this afternoon injuring Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) operations Zaffar Mehdi and his PSO.

Both the injured were removed to the nearby Pattan hospital for treatment.
