Pulwama: The Internet services in south Kashmir’s Pulwama remained suspended on third consecutive days, severely affecting the students and business community in the south Kashmir district.
Burhan Mir, a student from Pulwama, said internet suspension badly affects his studies especially when the exams are round the corner.
Not only mobile internet, the authorities have also “reduced” speed o broadband in the district following a gunfight in which one militant was killed and another was injured.
“We lost 70% business in last two years due to internet ban. What is our sin,” said Nazir Ahmad, a businessman and requested government to restore internet.
An owner of a clinical laboratory told INS he has sent hundreds of tests of different patients to New Delhi. “ Our business hinges on internet as we receive reports online but due to internet suspension no report is received from last seven days as a result of which patients suffer.”
“If government has security concerns, they should block social media apps but snapping internet is unjustified,” the owner said.
Talking to INS Mir Communications Pulwama said broadband speed has also been reduced “ As result of which we fail to carry on with our business. We are unable to file examination forms of students.”
