Police issues statement on Hurriyat activist killing in Shopian

Srinagar: Police alleged that Hurriyat activist in south Kashmir’s Shopian was killed after militant shot at him and left him in critical condition.

The police said the individual was critically injured at Meemandar area of Shopian.

“The individual was evacuated to nearby hospital for medical attention, however, he succumbed to his injuries. The slain individual has been identified as Tariq Ahmad Ganie son of Mohammad Yaqoob Ganie resident of Meemandar Shopian”.

Police has registered a case in this regard and the investigation has been initiated in an instant manner, added the spokesman.
