Hurriyat activist shot dead in Shopian

Srinagar: A Hurriyat activist was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Meemender area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District today afternoon.

Reports said that the Hurriyat activist and former militant Tariq Ahmad Ganie was fired upon by gunmen near his home at Meemender village.

In the incident Ganie received serious bullet wounds and was taken to nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

A Police officer also confirmed the incident and said that the investigations in the case has been launched.
