Srinagar: Justice (Retd.) B.A. Khan, Chairperson, State Accountability Commission, Jeet Lal Gupta, Chairman, State Commission for Backward Classes and Vijay Dhar, Member Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board on Tuesday met met Governor Satya Pal Malik at the Raj Bhavan.
According to an official spokesman, Khan briefed Governor about the functioning of the Commission and the various steps being taken to inquire into the grievances and allegations against public functionaries and for matters connected there with.
Governor attached high importance to maintaining accountability, transparency and efficiency during disposal of official tasks in order to serve the people in a better way. Khan also extended warm greetings to Malik on his appointment as Governor.
Gupta too extended warm greetings to Malik and briefed Governor about the functioning of the Commission and the various steps being taken to promote and protect the social, educational, economic and cultural interests of the Backward Classes in the State.
He also apprised Governor about the various important matters concerning the Backward Classes which are still pending decision at various levels.
Governor stressed the high importance of all required measures being taken for protecting and advancing the interest of the Backward Classes.
Dhar met Governor Satya Pal Malik, Chairman of the Board, at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Dhar and Governor discussed about the initiatives required by the Shrine Board in making annual pilgrimage to the Holy Cave of Shri Amarnathji more comfortable and safe. Dhar offered various suggestions to further improve facilities for yatris.
