Gunfight in Tral, one militant killed

Srinagar: One militant has been killed in a fierce encounter that  broke out Sunday morning between government forces and militants in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Early morning, special operations group (SOG) of police and army laid a cordon around Aripal village of Tral and started a cordon and search operation CASO.

As the CASO was underway, militants hiding in the village opened fire upon the government forces to break the cordon.

The government forces returned the fire triggering off a gun-battle.

The anti militancy operation launched by government forces  was going on when the last reports came in.
