Shutdown in Shopian continues against ‘disappearance’ of youth

Srinagar: Bandipora town is observing a shutdown for the second consecutive day against killing of five militants by government forces at Shogbaba village during a gunfight.

Educational institutions including schools and colleges, have been ordered closure for today by district administration.

All the business establishments are shut while the traffic is off the roads.

The internet services remains suspended since Thursday.

Five militants were killed in a two day long fierce gunfight which ended on Friday after forces blew up the house they were hiding in.

Police said the five killed were foreign militants.
