Srinagar: After the suspected militants abducted and killed three SPO’s in southern Kashmir Shopian district, several video’s containing resignations of SPO’s have gone viral on social media.
In the videos the serving SPO’s are seen announcing resignations from the police job.
Tajullah Hussain Lone son of Abdul Wahab Lone, a resident of Tawheedpora Batgund in Shopian district in a video says that he has resigned from his job on 17th of this month.
Working as SPO for last 6 years in the police department, Lone said that he has no concern with the department now. “I had uploaded a photograph on the same day, however had not released the video.”
Another Constable Irshad Ahmad Baba, a resident of Dangam area of Shopian, released a video clip and announced his resignation.
“I have nothing to do with Police job from now,” Irsahd was heard saying in the video.
Special Police Officer (SPO) Umar Bashir, a resident of Kapren followed Irshad by releasing a letter alongwith his photograph.
Three cops were abducted and killed by suspected militants in Shopian earlier in the day.
Earlier three policemen and brother of another cop were abducted from twin villages of Batgund and Kapren after suspected militants barged into their residential houses.
Eyewitnesses said that the bullet-riddled bodies of three cops were later recovered from Dangam area of Shopian, not far away from Kapren and Bategund.
The slain have been identified as Kuldeep Singh, Nisar Ahmad, and Firdous Ahmad.
The kidnappings come just three weeks after three policemen and eight relatives of police personnel, who were kidnapped by militants in south Kashmir, were set free, after the Jammu and Kashmir police released around a dozen family members of militants, including the father of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Riyaz Naikoo.
