Srinagar: A CRPF trooper was on Tuesday injured in a militant attack in Newa area of Pulwama district.

Sources said that at 12:45 am Tuesday morning, militants lobbed a grenade and opened fire towards the joint camp of special operations group (SOG) of police and CRPF in Newa.

They said that a CRPF personnel was wounded after he was hit by a bullet.

Identified as Manzoor Ahmad Khan, the injured personnel was shifted to army’s Badamibagh cantonment hospital in Srinagar for treatment.

Soon after the attack, government forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to nab the militants
